A small island, Cumbrae is perfectly placed for a host of water activities. You can enjoy sailing, canoeing, and windsurfing. There are also plenty of safe, sandy beaches suitable for families where rock pools can be explored.

The Ferry Port on Cumbrae is a simple slipway, although there is free parking and public toilets just across the road. The nearest post office and cash machine is in the town of Millport, 4 miles from the ferry port. A local bus for Millport picks up from every ferry.

Getting to Cumbrae Ferry Port

By Car

Largs is about 32 miles from Glasgow, and it takes just under 50 minutes to drive.

By Bus

A regular, local bus meets every ferry, and takes you from Cumbrae's ferry slipway to Millport.

By Train

There are no trains on the Isle of Cumbrae itself, but the train from Glasgow to Largs takes approximately 1 hour, and from Largs train station it is a short walk to the ferry terminal.

Disabled Facilities

There is disabled access, toilets and a lift. There are wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge (from the ship only).These are only available for use between the Terminal Building and the Ferry.

Ferry Port Facilities

Cumbrae Ferry Port is an unattended slipway and as such there are no facilities at the ferry terminal itself, although there are public toilets and free parking directly across the road, and many more shops, banks, bars and restaurants in Millport, just a few miles away.

There is no parking on the slipway, but free parking is available just over the road.
